It began with a dream…
Beginning at age 2, Emma fell in love with dance. From soccer to t-ball, nothing filled her with the joy that dance did. She pursued dance for 16 years at Artistic Dance Conservatory and trained in styles from Jazz to Tap to Hip Hop. She was also lucky enough to train in the summer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Boston Conservatory’s Musical Theatre Summer Intensive, as well worked closely with Elizabeth Parkinson.
After high school, Emma began her pre-professional dance journey at Oklahoma City University’s Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment. She just recently graduated with her Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree in May of 2024. While in school, Emma was able to learn about all the avenues of the entertainment industry, from pedagogy to management to performing. This year, Emma performed with the Star Dance Company in their Holiday Spectacular as well as their spring show, Move! She also had the opportunity to perform with the Repertoire Company with the Ann Lacy School. Given all these opportunities, Emma feels prepared to enter the professional world and pursue her dreams
Where its heading…
Dreams coming true…
While in the midst of pursuing her education, Emma has had some amazing opportunities to perform professionally. During the 2022 summer season, Emma performed in the ensemble of Lyric theatre of Oklahoma’s “Carousel.” She also worked closely on their summer show “Matilda” but unfortunately was unable to perform due to COVID19. Throughout the ups and downs, Emma still learned from this experience that she was meant to perform in the musical theatre industry. All she had worked for was proving to be worth it! Just this previous summer, Emma continued to pursue her dreams as she performed in “Retrospect” at Kings Dominion theme park in Doswell, Virginia. This coming summer, Emma will return to Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma to perform in Mary Poppins, as Assistant Choreographer/Dance Captain/Ensemble. She sure is excited to continue growing and learning as a musical theatre performer, as it aligns with her career goals.
